Sealed Tenders, clearly marked as to content, will be received by the Engineering Department, 5520 - 50 St, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 2G9 up to 2:00:00 pm hour’s local time on Thursday March 28, 2024, for the City of Wetaskiwin – 2024 Airport Fencing. The time will be conclusively determined using the National Research Council of Canada Webclock at http://time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml. Tenders will be accepted between 8:30a.m. and 12:00p.m. or 1:00p.m. and 4:00p.m., Monday to Friday.
Mandatory pre-bid site meeting: Tuesday, 05 March 2024 at 9:00 AM, at Wetaskiwin Regional Airport, located at 6301 47 Ave, Wetaskiwin, AB T9A 2G2, West parking lot. An alternate visit can be arranged before March 12, 2024, 12:00PM with proof of valid reason from bidder not attending scheduled visit.
Any potential bidder must attend the pre-bid site meeting if they wish to place a bid. Bidders are required to inform the City of their attendance for the site visit by March 4, 2024, at 12:00 PM, via email at engineering@wetaskiwin.ca
All tenders will be EVALUATED, see section 00 21 13 for instructions. The final results will NOT be released by the City.
The Work to be undertaken is generally described as: 2024 Airport Fencing in the City of Wetaskiwin. Includes:
• 6 feet chain link fence – 3226 meters
• An electrically operated single cantilever gate (30 ft (wide) x 6 ft (H))
• An electrically operated double swing gate (25 ft (wide) x 6 ft (H))
• Manually Operated Double Swing Gate (20 ft (wide) x 6 ft (H))
• Manually Operated Double Swing Gate (15 ft (wide) x 6 ft (H))
• Remove & Dispose Existing barbed Wire Fence –2860 meters
Starting 2:00:00 pm, local time, Tuesday, Feb 27, 2024, Tender Documents and Drawings may be obtained in an electronic version from Alberta purchasing Connection @ https://www.purchasingconnection.ca
Bidders must regularly check Alberta Purchase Connection for addendums.
Bidders are completely responsible for ensuring that their bids reach the correct final location prior to the bid submission deadline. Fax, email and other non-hard copy forms of bids or amendments WILL NOT be accepted.
Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents.
A bid bond or certified cheque for the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Tender Price is to accompany each Tender. Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn at or after the Tender submittal deadline and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the Tender submittal deadline.
The bidder acknowledges and will be willing to accept the role of prime contractor pursuant to the occupational health and safety act requirements and by submission of a bid acknowledges that it has the capability of fulfilling this requirement.
The City reserves the right, without prejudice, to reject any or all Tenders.
The City of Wetaskiwin contracts have changed, and contractors must fully read and understand the responsibilities outlined in this document before submitting a bid.
