Description

Alberta Education requires a qualified Resource who will support provincial school authorities and the service providers working for them on behalf of students with low incidence disabilities (students who are blind or visually impaired, deaf or hard of hearing, deafblind or have complex communication needs, particularly in the area of augmentative and alternative communication).

The need to support student mental health is well understood; however, specialist support is required to ensure students with disabilities have equal access to the mental health supports being offered. The Resource will bring a disability lens to student mental health, and how school authorities can support access by students with disabilities.
