PRE-ADVERTISING OF TSL TA2245, SAN JUAN, PORT ALBERNI FIELD TEAM
The Strait of Georgia Business Area of BC Timber Sales is pre-advertising Timber Sale Licence TA2245 San Juan. Formal advertising of this timber sale is estimated to occur between January 8th and February 16th, 2024. This pre-advertising is occurring to allow prospective bidders to view the sale before inclement weather or snow makes the sale inaccessible. Viewing of this sale now will allow prospective bidders to better prepare a tender when the sale is advertised and tendered.

Harvesting Method: Ground based and Grapple Yarding
Timing Restrictions: A Goshawk nest is located near block SJsj5GB. Industrial activity is to be avoided within no-work zones around nests during the breeding period from February 15 to September 15 unless determined to be inactive by a Qualified Registered Professional (QRP). The following no-work zones will apply:
- 100m for any hauling,
- 500m for any road construction or falling activity,
- 1,000m for any blasting

Road construction on Sam Main and S024, block SJsj5HF is currently active. Prior to viewing SJsj5HF contact Denis Francoeur to coordinate safe access through the worksite. Formal viewing of these timber sales will not be a mandatory requirement for submitting a tender on these sales when they are advertised. Viewing of the timber and site conditions are, however, highly recommended if you are considering submitting a tender.
