Description

This contract offer is for the opportunity to coordinate and implement tree planting operations for approximately 690,000 tree seedlings for BC Timber Sales, in the Kootenay Lake Field Unit (KLFU).

Planting Units are located within the Kootenay Lake TSA between Yahk in the South and Duncan Lake in the North.

Based on historic evidence for a similar program, prospective bidders can expect that the timing of active operations is between approximately late April and mid-June. Site specific weather, elevation and seasonal factors may vary this window.
The minimum production rate is 20,000 trees per day starting from May 6, 2024 until project completion. An earlier startup with a small crew may be possible if planting units are accessible and snow free.
The successful contractor will be responsible to coordinate the submission of pre-thaw approvals and thaw requests; coordinate seedling transport including any/all intermediate reefer requirements to meet specified stock handling standards. All thawed stock must be planted within 5 days.
