Notice Of Proposal

The following is a summary of the work to be undertaken to demolish the existing concrete helipad at
Otter Islands Rear Range (LL818). The helipad coordinates are approximately 45° 17’ 33.30”N, 81° 41’
12.30”W. The site is located on the North Otter Island, 4.25km offshore from Tobermory, Ontario. The site
is accessible by water only.
The description of work in this project includes:
• Mobilizing to site with a work barge of appropriate size and certification based on the Contractor’s
assessment of the site;
• Providing means of a temporary laydown and tool storage area at the site;
• Providing means of a temporary isolation around existing concrete helipad, such as a cofferdam,
temporary structure, or safety nets with panelling.
• Demolition and disposal of existing concrete helipad, associated rebar, and supports;
• Transportation of demolished goods from the site;
• Demobilizing from site;
• Disposal of all waste at a licensed waste disposal facility.
Site work is expected to take approximately one week and must be completed by September 27th, 2024.
Due to the remote site location and proximity to the water, a detailed Environmental Protection Plan must
be implemented and must account for the items listed in the specifications, as well as the demolition of
the structure and transportation of the demolished goods from the site to the licensed waste disposal
facility.
