Alberta Education, Services for Students with Visual Impairments (SSVI), produces braille resources in support of Alberta Kindergarten to Grade 12 students who are blind or visually impaired. The work is broken down into two major components: transcription - the conversion of print-based Learning Resources into braille format and/or tactile graphic, and proofreading - ensuring that the converted braille resources and tactile graphics are accurate and properly formatted. The final braille resources are catalogued and added to the collection for borrowing by schools and other provincial organizations.

The purpose of this RFP is to develop a non-exclusive Standing Offer whereby highly skilled Resources may provide Braille Transcription and/or Proofreading Services to Alberta Education on an as and when needed basis.
