Description

Short Term Enablement and Planning Suites ("STEPS") provide housing premises (a private housing unit with a lockable door) and hospitality services with access to Island Health home support services. STEPS provide short term transitional housing for clients requiring some additional support after a hospital stay, prior to returning home.

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to solicit proposals through a competitive selection process to enter into Agreements between the successful proponent(s) and Island Health to provide up to ten (10) community based Short Term Enablement and Planning Suites within existing Assisted Living or Independent Living facilities in the Nanaimo and Oceanside region. Hospitality services refer to those services that are "hotel-like" in nature and must include two (2) meals a day, one (1) of which is the main daily nutritious meal, housekeeping and laundry services on a weekly basis, social and recreational opportunities, and a twenty-four (24) hour emergency response system.
