Description

A critical piece of work required to aid in the development of a Surface Water Quality Management Framework is to improve our understanding of the cumulative influences of wastewater effluent on river pollutant loads at a regional scale. The main objective of this project is to obtain a wastewater effluent characterization for the Upper Athabasca Region. To support achievement of this objective, this project will include the following:
1. Collation and quality control of all available effluent data discharging into the mainstem Athabasca River or major tributaries.
2. An assessment of the collected data including summary statistics
3. A detailed literature review
4. River impact analysis
5. Identification of variables of concern
6. Review of the current monitoring program
7. Maps
8. Database development
