The VFPA is seeking a suitable Contractor to carry out the following scope of work. Modifications associated with the repowering include but are not limited to:
1. Removal of existing main engines, gearboxes, shafts, bearings, exhaust system.
2. Fabricate and install new main engine pedestals to suit new resilient mounts.
3. Install new main engines and gearboxes and associated components (cooling, fuel, lubricating oil, exhaust, etc.).
4. Connect new main engines to fuel system. Replace connections as required and filters.
5. Connect new main engines to machinery cooling system. Replace connections as required and Strainers.
6. Replace existing control system with new main engine and gearbox control systems.
7. Modification of existing exhaust system (form turbo outlet to existing surge chamber).
8. Install new supplied shaft seals, and shaft bearings if needed.
9. Install new supplied propellers on shafts.
10. Commission new propulsion system.
VFPA will hold an
optional site visit. Attendance at a meeting or visit will be at the discretion of the Proponents, but Proponents who do not attend will be deemed to have received all of the information made available to attendees. VFPA will not provide any notes or minutes from any informational meetings or site visits. VFPA may for operational reasons limit the number of attendees from each Proponent team that may attend a site visit. If a Proponent attends a site visit, then as a condition of entering the Site the Proponent must agree to: comply with, and cause all of its representatives, including its directors, officers, employees and agents, and its team members to comply with all Site rules and regulations, as may be established by VFPA. sign an acknowledgement, waiver and indemnity as may be required by VFPA; and accept full responsibility for any and all events arising from the Proponent’s access to, and activities at, the Site.
Date of Optional Site Visit May 10, 2024. Arrangements for site visit are required to be made in advance. Proponents are asked to email Jason Evans, Marina Asset Technical Coordinator Marine Operation, with copy to Patricia Moscoso, Senior Procurement Advisor to make such arrangements.
