Description

Notice is hereby given that BC Emergency Health Services (“BCEHS”), supported by the Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”) herein, intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide two (2) Aircraft Stretcher Bridges for BCEHS Aviation at an estimated value of $ 120,960.00.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, BCEHS has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:

Due to an absence of competition for technical reasons.

Rationale
The Helimods aircraft stretcher bridge is the only model of medical equipment bridges that BCEHS air ambulance aircraft can use with their current stretchers. Only the Helimods bridge has been issued with a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to modify our BCEHS Aircraft. As such only Helimods meets Transport Canada Aviation Regulations and Standards and Transport Canada approval.
