Description

École St. Joseph School in Whitecourt, Alberta is a new construction school opened in 2017 to house 550
students in Grades 4 to 12. As part of the design, a small food services area is located in the front lobby
of the school to facilitate lunch food services for students and staff. Additional food services could be
food service for after school programs and other events held in the school. The student population has
limited food service options in our location, so a strong internal service level could quickly exceed
previous sales levels.
This is a shared space with our school nutrition program who utilizes the commercial grade kitchen
appliances.
There is a planned grade reconfiguration in 2023 that would see the grades 4 to 6 moved to a different
school, leaving this school with grades 7 to 12, leaving an estimated student population just over 300.
B. Opportunity
Living Waters Catholic Separate School Division is soliciting proposals from qualified companies that are
experienced in food service delivery. Full delivery would include: creation of menus, ordering and
inventorying food and other supplies, collecting payments, kitchen cleaning and running full accounting
of the service functions. This is an opportunity to run an independent service within our school to
provide food service at a reasonable profit margin.
