PEO is working towards an enterprise-wide transformation to become a professional, modern regulator that delivers on its statutory mandate and is supported by a governance culture that consistently makes decisions that serve and protect the public interest. Several organizational changes have been made in the last few years to better position PEO to achieve the goals and objectives set out in the 2023-2025 strategic plan, including the development of an External Relations department, a reorganization of the Policy & Governance division, and the expansion of the communication department. With greater emphasis placed on strategic communication, and an expectation that the Policy and Governance division will work in concert to gather input from stakeholders that informs policy and external communication, it is imperative that communication to PEO stakeholders is effective, consistent, and aligned across departments, teams, and external partners.
To help elevate PEO’s profile with stakeholders, increase understanding of PEO’s mandate, and improve its reputation as a trusted, competent, and modern regulator, seamless communication is critical. A communication audit will allow PEO to evaluate existing communication processes and uncover opportunities for enhancement, ultimately leading to improved information flow and positive relationships with stakeholders.
