Lanark County (the "County") invites potential proponents to submit a proposal for the construction of a twenty (20-unit) social housing apartment building in the town of Carleton Place, Ontario (the “Project”). The selected proponent will supply the land as part of its proposal. The social housing apartment building must be on land serviced by the Town of Carleton Place water and sewer system.
The County requires occupancy by July 1, 2020.
The Project will involve the design and preparation of detailed drawings by licensed professionals for the site development, landscaping, storm water management, utility connections, road entrance, and all building components, followed by all necessary permit approvals, construction, inspection, and final certification. Further details will be provided in a forthcoming addendum. Building requirements are provided in section A. The Deliverables (Appendix D) of this RFP document.
The County will consider two (2) types of proposals: (i) a new build; or (ii) a building retrofit, provided the requirements of the RFP are satisfied. Proponents are permitted to submit more than one proposal. Proponents who wish to submit more than one proposal are permitted to submit a proposal for a new build and for a retrofit, but are not permitted to submit more than one (1) proposal for either of those two (2) approaches. Proponents who wish to submit more than one (1) proposal must make it clear which type of approach, either new build or building retrofit, they are proposing in each proposal. If a proponent submits more than one (1) proposal, submissions must be clearly identified as Proposal A and Proposal B.
