The University of Windsor is seeking a Spectrofluorometer for Advanced Materials Characterization and Sensor Development
The instrument must have the following specifications and capabilities:
• An excitation monochromator and 2 emission monochromators for the requested T-geometry for the additional polarization/anisotropy module; • Xe lamp (450W) and a Pulsed high energy Xe flash lamp (uF2);
• R928P UV-visible PMT (185-850 nm)- for use with Fluorolog-3, includes housing, adapter, and DM302 discriminator for photon counting steady state fluorescence Phosphorescence lifetime: Time-Resolved Single Photon Counting (Multi Channel Scaling - MCS) with a lifetime range of 10 ns – 50s;
• Fluorescence lifetime: Time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) with a lifetime range of 150 ps to 50 us;
• Temperature control: -20 to +105 oC, a general requirement;
• Computer and FluoEssecne 3.8 software;
- All equipment must meet Canadian and Ontario Electrical Safety codes

Additional Accessories requested by the user group:
• Extended IR capability- 800 nm – 1550 nm for dyes, films and materials research;
• Solid Sample Holder and front face viewing option with swing away mirror- for powders films and slides and standard filter set to handle high scatter of solids etc., essential for materials research;
• Multiwell-Plate Reader Module- to perform spectral or time resolved measurements on multi-well plates and a bifurcated fibre bundle for optical connection to FLS 1000, an essential requirement for the cell studies;
• Picosecond pulsed LEDs- plus mounting brackets for picosecond diode lasers; at the requested wavelengths for performing fast lifetime measurements and time-based kinetics on cells; • Polarization Accessories in L- and T-Formats and T-geometry optics- for the requested anisotropy/polarization studies, a requirement for high scatter materials and lipid studies.
Vendors interested in responding to a Request for Proposal or RFQ must email a Letter of Interest including Merx reference number, name of company, address, phone number, contact person and email address to Dario Pavia (email: Dario.Pavia
@uwindsor.ca). Vendors should include general literature and specifications of the equipment they sell which meets the above specifications. The Request for Proposal or RFQ will be issued to vendors who sell equipment meeting the above capabilities. The Request for Proposal or RFQ will not be issued to vendors until after the closing date of the Merx posting.
