Description

The University is interested in purchasing a High-Temperature Gel Permeation Chromatography system (HT-GPC) with the following specifications. The system will be used for high-accuracy characterization of ultra-high purity conjugated polymers for application in electronics. The instrument will also be used to characterize various ultra-low solubility polymers that are an integral part of our research.

High-Temperature GPC requirements

Entirely heated system (ambient to 220°C), from injection to waste.
Temperature controlled auto-sampler and injection valve (40-220°C).
Temperature controlled reservoir (40-220°C).
Temperature controlled pumps to maintain solvent density/volume constant during measurements.
Colum oven with temperature control (40-220°C) that accommodates analytical and preparative columns.
Optional column switching valve to change columns without opening column oven.
Dual flow refractive index (RI) detector with a continuous flow-through flow cell.
Two isocratic pumps (220°C) that operate independently.
Chemically resistant components, to resist continuous flow of trichlorobenzene at 220°C.
Analytical and guard columns for a broad range of molecular weights.
Interactive software for easy control of instrument operational status.
Ability to directly and easily add additional detectors (UV, Viscometer and Light Scattering).

Vendors should include general literature and specifications of the equipment they sell which meets the above specifications. The Request for Proposal or RFQ will be issued to vendors who sell equipment meeting the above capabilities. The Request for Proposal or RFQ will not be issued to vendors until after the closing date of the Merx posting.
