Description

The University of Waterloo is seeking proposals for a campus wide Wi-Fi refresh project. This upgrade is expected to occur over the period of 1 year starting no later than summer 2020. The current wireless solution is using Aruba hardware consisting of redundant mobility masters, 8 local controllers for high availability, 5792 access points, 4 airwave servers, a guest access solution, and 4 freeRADIUS servers. A high level diagram of the environment has been provided in this RFP.
This upgrade is expected to replace all current access points with Wi-Fi 6 AP’s and will be either Aruba or Cisco hardware. Any Cisco solution is expected to meet or exceed the current Aruba solution in configuration, operation, and monitoring.
