18-055 - LG - Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometer, ISOCHROM Replacement

The University of Waterloo invites qualified companies to submit Proposals for a Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometer, ISOCHROM Replacement (SIRMS) in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposal (RFP). The University of Waterloo intends to select one vendor that meets or exceeds the Requirements identified in this RFP.  We seek to replace aging/obsolete Stable Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry (SIRMS) equipment (ISOCHROM) with current state of the art equipment capable of performing the same analyses as previously but far more efficiently, faster and with better precision, with smaller sample requirements. Such instrumentation allows the addition of other peripherals now and in the future i.e. LC/Isochrome for amino acid isotopic analysis, which is not able to be attached to the present older equipment. The mass spectrometers and peripherals would put the laboratory at the leading edge of this area of analyses and research in Canada.
