Background
The Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) Laboratory – which focuses on the development of the next generation of AM processes and applications - is now the largest academic AM facility in Canada and one of the top 10 academic AM facilities in the world.
MSAM research programs focus on next generation additive manufacturing processes. To this end, the lab explores novel techniques to develop advanced materials, innovative products, modeling and simulation tools, monitoring devices, closed-loop control systems, quality assurance algorithms and holistic in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques.
This metal powder-bed fusion additive manufacturing equipment is required for continuation of this AM research.
The budget for this purchase is capped at $1,240,000 CAD, plus HST.
This Request for Proposal is issued in concert with funding in part from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI), and should follow all CFI Guidelines and Policies – please refer to pages 3 and 4 of the RFP document.
