Background
This Request for Proposals is intended to acquire several channels of microwave synthesizers with a mix of maximum frequencies ranging from 6 GHz to 20 GHz. The equipment will be used in the Engineering Quantum Systems Laboratory (EQSL) for applications within the field of quantum computing requires a high degree of phase coherence between the channels, such that this will be a key requirement.
Standard systems that only synchronize channels by phase locking to a 10 MHz or 100 MHz reference will generally not qualify.
The budget for the project is capped at $118,000 CAD, not including HST.
This acquisition is made possible in partnership with the Canadian Foundation for Innovation.
