The specifications described in this RFP will act as a guide for interpretation of quality and minimum Requirements for the Ultra-small focal spot micro-focus X-ray source. Respondents are required to meet or surpass the minimum specification set for any component. All System components must meet the research application requirements and must be new. Respondents wishing to propose demo, newly-manufactured, or other previously used, whether full or partially supplied, equipment and/or components should do so via the alternative bid option defined in 2.9.
All components of this System equipment are the responsibility of the Respondent. It is expected that Respondents provide all necessary components, peripherals, connectors, power cords, adaptors, boards, etc. (except computer hardware which will be provided by the University of Waterloo), as well as all wiring diagrams including the required configuration for the entire equipment set. Respondent is responsible for delivering and installing a complete, functional unit, which meets all specifications detailed herein during the final on-site commissioning and acceptance tests.
The micro-focus X-ray source will form an important component of the laboratory in which it will be installed. The unit must therefore be of a well-established, robust design with proven excellent uptimes and performance.
