The University’s department of Athletics and Recreation is seeking an ice-resurfacing machine to replace its existing unit. The ice resurfacing machine operates on a single pad arena used for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating at the Columbia Icefield Facility. The current equipment, powered by propane (LPG) is over 12 years old and is approaching end of life.
We have provided two specification sheets in Appendix C – one for a traditional propane (LPG) model and an alternate submission for an electrical unit, should one be available in a reasonable time frame.
The University would be open to negotiating a hybrid solution which may consist of various options, one of which may be the lease of an LPG model until the electronic model is available for purchase and delivery.
