Background
The purpose of this RFP is to purchase a high temperature gel permeation chromatography (HT-GPC) system to replace an instrument extensively damaged in a flood event in the laboratory of Prof. Mario Gauthier and a wide range of other users. This instrument will be installed in the C2-165 laboratory and will be used to analyze materials derived from biological (e.g. starch) and non-biological sources (e.g. polyolefins and various other synthetic polymers). It must be able to operate under a wide range of conditions, but particularly at high temperatures, and to provide absolute molecular weight characterization results for the samples.
