Description

The Biology department’s Plant Growth Facility, located in the Biology 1 (B1) building, uses controlled-environment growth chambers to produce a wide variety of plant species for use in both research programs and undergraduate teaching laboratories. Due to aging equipment and the high demand for space, the Facility is currently being used to capacity. As a result, the department has allocated funding to the purchase of two additional units with approximate internal growing areas of 40 ft2 and 16 ft2. These units will be used primarily to support undergraduate teaching laboratories, which service hundreds of students annually.
NOTE that this is a Supply and Install requirement; see details specified in Section 6.0

Event Note

There is a scheduled site visit being held on campus on Wednesday, Feb 12th, 2020, at 10.30 am EST local time. Respondents should assemble at the B1 building, room 290, prior to this time. Please refer to our campus map, which shows the location of the B1 building, as well as access roads, for the delivery of the growth chambers:

All interested parties should attend the site visit to familiarize themselves with the layout of the Plant Growth Facility, and the RFP requirements. It is expected that Respondents understand the scope of work and site conditions and have thoroughly familiarized themselves with all pertinent information before delivery of their proposal.
