The University of Waterloo (UW) intends to award a single source contract to balticFuelCells GmbH, for a qCf FC50/125 V2.0 Liquid Cooling (The quickCONNECTfixture with an active fuel cell area of 50 cm²) & qCf FC25/100 V2.0 Liquid Cooling (The quickCONNECTfixture with an active fuel cell area of 25 cm²) fuel cell testing units including 3x specialized cellFixtures for both with required accessories. These instruments will provide the capacity, capability and functionality required for a range of experiments in the field of in-situ testing specifically characterising internal components for fuel cells such as but not limited to: graphite/carbon and coated/uncoated metallic bipolar plates and electrolysis with coated/uncoated titanium bipolar plates. The balticFuelCells’ quickCONNECTfixtures and cellFixtures are standardized fuel cell testing hardware, designed to allow a reliable intercomparison of test results between different test centres. UW’s project sponsoring industry partner, Precision Resource Canada Ltd., would like UW to acquire this test hardware so that the fuel cell components developed by the project will have the technical specifications/performances that can be validated independently elsewhere, including their clients.
This is an advanced Notice indicating to the supplier community that UW intends to award a contract for these goods to the pre-identified supplier. If no other supplier submits, on or before the closing date of this notice, a statement of qualifications within budget that can satisfy the stated requirements set out in this Notice, the competitive requirements of the University are considered to have been met. Following notification to any suppliers not successful in demonstrating that their statement of qualifications meets the requirements set out in this Notice, the contract may then be awarded to the pre-identified supplier.
If other potential suppliers submit statements of qualifications during the fifteen calendar day posting period, and meet the requirements set out in this Notice, UW will proceed to a Request for Proposal process, in order to award the contract.
DESCRIPTION:
The University of Waterloo wishes to acquire both quickCONNECTfixtures (25 & 50 cm²), cellFixtures and accessories for integration in existing experimental setups that will extend the functionality of these setups for a range of experiments in in-situ fuel cell and electrolysis testing devices. Both quickCONNECTfixtures support fuel cell and electrolysis testing under reproducible test conditions; for research and scientific use, as well as for quality assurance applications. The budget for this acquisition is approximately (€101,766 EUR) $138,000.00 CAD, that includes packaging, exporting and freightage. Import Tax and Customs fees/charges are additional.
