The system will be hosted in the Multi-Scale Additive Manufacturing (MSAM) lab of the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics of the University of Waterloo. The MSAM Lab focuses on next generation additive manufacturing processes. To this end, the lab explores novel techniques to develop advanced materials, innovative products, modeling and simulation tools, monitoring devices, closed-loop control systems, quality assurance algorithms and holistic in-situ and ex-situ characterization techniques. For further information, please see this website http://msam-uwaterloo.ca/
MSAM is one of the ten largest AM academic centers in the world. The requested system will be used in the holistic characterization of additively manufactured parts using a variety of AM processes.
Through support received from the government and industry, MSAM will soon be one of the top 5 centers in the world, many new industrial partnerships being developed.
