This Request for Proposal is an invitation by the University to prospective companies to submit proposals for the yearly (period of May to mid-August) cleaning of building envelope windows, windows in vestibules, aluminium siding and the windows and screens of two (2) greenhouses for a five (5) year period with the option to renew for three (3) additional one (1) year period.
The Services include the cleaning of:
- Main campus building envelope windows; includes both the inside and outside surfaces of all the main campus buildings;
- building envelope windows of student residences; outside only;
- inside vestibules of selected buildings; includes both the inside and outside surfaces;
- aluminium siding at the Power Plant and Louis Pasteur; and
- screens and windows of two (2) green houses.

Mandatory Contract Requirements:
1. All of the provider’s personnel must undergo an identification background (security check), done by Ottawa Police on Elgin St. in Ottawa, prior to the beginning of the work. All costs associated with this verification will be the responsibility of the provider,
2. Upon contract award, the provider will be required to provide a performance bond in favour of the University in the amount $100,000 dollars.
3. Provider’s personnel must complete safety training stipulated in Regulation 859: Window Cleaning (Ontario) under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Ontario) offered by Infrastructure Health and Safety Association or otherwise

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) Coverage demonstrated by a valid WSIB Clearance Certificate.
Provide Proof of Insurance/or proof of intent to submit a valid certificate of insurance ($5M Commercial General Liability and $1M Automobile Liability Insurance)
Letter of Consent from a surety company confirming Proponent is able to obtain a performance bond in the amount of $100,000
