2018067-ACAN - Strategic support for the Telfer School of Management at UOttawa.

PURPOSE
 
The purpose of this Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to post the University of Ottawa’s (uOttawa) intention to enter into contractual arrangements with Mapleton Management Consulting  to provide the services identified in the requirements noted below.
 
This ACAN provides prospective service providers the opportunity to demonstrate that they are capable of satisfying all requirements set out in this Advance Contract Award Notice by way of submitting a Statement of Capabilities on or before the posting end date.
 
SCOPE OF WORK FOR PROPOSED SERVICE PROVIDER
 
The Dean of the Telfer School of Management needs the services of Mapleton Management Consulting to provide strategic and operational support to all the School to carry out its mission.
More specifically, the responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Strategic Planning and Implementation, and Scorecards: The Service Provider’s focus will shift from strategy formulation to strategy implementation, as we track progress on the School’s Key Initiatives toward our 2022 strategic goals. The Service Provider will work closely with the strategy primes and program directors to set 3-year goals as well as annual objectives, and track and report progress in each area and identify solutions to redress possible gaps between targets and actual results. The consultant will produce the necessary output and write the relevant parts of the reports that are required of the School.
2. Support for specific strategic initiatives: The appointee will be closely involved to support the Dean and other members of the executive team 
3. Graduate Professional Programs :Will utilize his experience as former EMBA Director to help strengthen the School’s Graduate Professional Programs
4. Community connections : By building connections with the Ottawa business community, by acting as an ambassador for the school, and by helping to position the school as an important management development resource for the business community
5. Accreditations : Contributing, as needed, to the self-evaluation reports that need to be submitted as part of the School’s re-accreditation activities (AMBA and EQUIS, both in 2020) and other School-level submissions.

1. Ph.D degree.

1. A minimum of 20 years of experience as senior executive in the private sector.
2. A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a university enviroment in an executive role.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as Program Director in a School of Management.
4. Experience as a teacher at the University level.

1. Proven reputation as an executive as demonstrated, for example, through membership in boards of director
2. Experience in providing strategic support (strategic plan formulation and implementation)
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the standards, requirements and criteria of the three international Business School accreditation bodies (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS) 
4. Experience in delivering courses at the graduate level in a professional program within a School of Business or Management

1. Extensive knowledge and understanding of the issues and challenges of Business Schools in Canada
2. In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Management education sector
3. A great ability to work and write high-level texts
