2017032-RTI-ACAN - Qtrap Facility for Trace Metabolite Detection and Identification

Notice is hereby given by the University of Ottawa of the intent to enter into a contract with AB Sciex to procure a linear ion trap (QTRAP) hybrid triple quadrupole liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry system for the detection, identification and quantitation of trace metabolites in environmental and biological samples. This system will provide researchers with both high sensitivity and high selectivity through its combined triple quadrupole and ion trap platforms, allowing for the definitive identification of target chemicals at extremely low concentrations within complex mixtures.  From contaminants in soil and water samples to drug metabolites in animal and human blood samples, the QTRAP system will afford dependable results regarding the presence, concentration, and potential risk of bioactive compounds in our environment and consumer products. The Sciex 4000 QTRAP system is to be housed in a secured and shared laboratory (core facility), replacing the 3200 series system that will be re-purchased by the supplier.
