The University would like to procure fully automated, integrated cage processing system.

0. Equipment Information
   1. Heavy duty, large capacity hydro spray continuously operated conveyed washer designed for automatic, thorough, ergonomic, and efficient washing, rinsing, and drying of cages, allergen lids and transport trolleys used in the animal care laboratory.
   2. Full integration with the bedding transport systems (dirty and clean bedding) all components controlled by 1 software with 1 user interface to control all components of the integrated system
   3. System should include the following components:
      1. floor-mounted chain conveyors
      2. tunnel washer that can provide adequate heating capacity for washing module to accomplish thermal disinfection of the load (temperature tapes turning required) must provide extra drying capacity for high throughput (conveyer) and integrated bedding dispensing requirements.
      3. Tunnel washer should also have self-cleaning option to automatically remove waste from system and send to centralized waste disposal through vacuum.
      4. 2 multipurpose #6 axis robots
      5. trolley warehouse for multicage continuous process
      6. automatic conveyor roller table with multicage re-aligner
      7. electrical boxes
      8. bedding handling system - dirty bedding disposal station with rotating scrapers that can detect cage type and rotate scrapers accordingly and compatible with 20 cubic metres disposable container.  Sealed container, negative pressure vacuum system with indicators to notify operator when to change the soiled bedding container.  Unit must be self-cleaning.    Bedding handling system must also include integrated clean bedding dispenser.

   4. The purpose of the Equipment:
      12. The purpose of the Equipment is to clean and disinfect housing systems (cages) and annexe Equipment that is used for the purpose of housing small laboratory animals (rodents).
   5. Equipment compatibility:
      13. the cage wash system must be fully automated and integrated with all components manufactured by the same vendor. Workflow: Soiled mouse or rat cages should  be processed by entering the cage processing system stacked on trolleys, a robotics system should be used to empty the soiled bedding from the cages into an integrated, automated bedding disposal system, and placed into the tunnel washer for cleaning and sanitizing and dried in time for automatic refilling of the cage bottom with bedding and then appropriately stacked on dedicated trolleys for dispersal through the facility for general cage changing in animal holding rooms.
      14. University currently operates with mouse cages with a floor area of 501 cm2 and rat cages with floor area of up to 1862 cm2 made of thermoplastic  materials  on presentation racks one-sided or two-sided.
