Background and Purpose
McMaster’s Department of Athletics and Recreation invites qualified manufacturers and distributors to submit proposals in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposals. McMaster University is not seeking traditional supplier relationships, but rather partnerships with mutually beneficial brand building programs supported by innovative and creative marketing initiatives, all designed to strengthen both brands across the entire community.
The University is seeking Proposals for the sports product categories listed below. Each product category will be evaluated individually. McMaster reserves the right to award these product categories to one or multiple Proponents, at its sole discretion:
a) Sports Hydration Drink - Isotonic beverages shall mean two types of fluid replacement drinks, sometimes referred to as “sports” drinks: one type that provides electrolytes only, and the other that provides both electrolytes and carbohydrates;
b) Whey Protein/Sports Nutritional Beverage - Any beverage, in a ready-to-drink or powder form, that provides a blend of protein, vitamins and minerals used to support muscle repair and growth and supplement overall energy intake. The product should not be used for or marketed as having hydration benefits and is not marketed as a “water,” “sports drink” or “isotonic” or an "energy drink”.
