McMaster University invites qualified bidders to submit responses for the supply of Housekeeping for David Braley Health Sciences Centre located at 100 Main Street West in Hamilton. Ontario.

Bidders must quote the entire bid. Partial bids will not be accepted.
This RFP is to provide all labour, materials, cleaning supplies and equipment required to provide general housekeeping and janitorial services to the facility. The services to be provided include:
Custodial and Janitorial Services
Janitorial Services to include pick-up of waste and recycling. Waste and Recycling programs will be in place.
The Green bin organic waste program operated by the City of Hamilton, may be introduced at some point during the life of the contract.
General building cleaning
Refer to Appendix C Cleaning Frequency And Manuals and Appendix E Custodial Service Schedule For Clinic Area for detailed requirements of general cleaning and frequencies of the building cleaning.
Special event cleaning, set up and tear down. (occasional)
Provide staffing as required to assist with special event set up for the event space on the second and sixth floors and also reset meeting rooms on an as needed basis. This will require staff to set up or move, remove, replace chairs, tables etc. and provide general clean up services following each event.
Supply and maintenance of all cleaning equipment
Supply of all cleaning materials
Supply of all paper products and suitable dispensers.
Spills, primary flood response.
Maintain blood and Biological spill kits
In the event of a flood, spill or biological incident, the successful bidder’s onsite staff should have sufficient training along with appropriate spill kits to manage any event of this nature.
- Supply hand sanitizer and where necessary additional dispensers.
- Interior Glass cleaning to min height 8.0ft.in public areas
- During winter months, staff will be required to provide snow clearing duties in the general area around entrances, exits and emergency exits. Snow to be removed to approximately 6.0ft. from each doorway. Ice melt to be provided and distributed as required on walkways in keeping with the City of Hamilton bylaws for ice and snow removal to provide safe walking surfaces for pedestrians coming into and walking around the building. (floor plan and map provided). Attention to walk off mats and water pick up at entrances to avoid slips is also to be addressed and a plan outlining details on how this will be managed is to be provided. The glass window glazing at both north and south entrance doors tend to get covered with fingerprints during the day and need to be cleaned for fingerprints etc at least daily.
The term of this agreement is for an initial term of three (3) years with an option to renew for up to an additional two (2) years to be renewed on a yearly basis as required, at McMaster’s sole discretion. The anticipated start date of the contact is April 1, 2019, subject to change at McMaster’s sole discretion.
Review of Mandatory Requirements (Pass/Fail)
A Proposal must include, or conform with, the following Mandatory Requirements:
- Bid submission must include physical samples of all paper products, and hand soap.
- Proponent must confirm within bid they have CAD 7 form (WSIB) or equivalent.
- Proponent must include within bid a Statement of bonding company.
- Proponent must include within bid their Bank Ranking Documentation.
- Proponent must include a valid Liability Insurance Certificate.
