Description

This Request for Proposal is to solicit responses from potential Proponents interested in providing biohazardous waste disposal services to McMaster University located at 1280 Main Street West in Hamilton. Ontario.

McMaster’s objective is to seek a partner that will support and enhance the student and patient experience by providing:

•           Outstanding services.
•           Innovative methods and technology
•           Partner with McMaster to achieve the core mission of the University

The Successful Proponent will be required to comply with all applicable legislation governing the disposal of Hazardous Waste and must be capable to supply comprehensive services for the weekly removal of biohazardous waste. The Successful Proponent must also be proactive in offering services and diversion strategies whenever possible to minimize environmental impact and support McMaster University’s commitment to environmental sustainability. McMaster’s bioazardous waste disposal system is managed by the Environmental and Occupational Health Support Services (EOHSS) unit of Human Resources Services department.

The contract will be for a period of five (5) years from the date of award, if mutually agreed upon by the University and the service provider, and subject to annual review

The submission must clearly demonstrate the proponent’s recent (5 years) experience and ability to fulfill the service requirement identified.

The Proponent must submit copies of all applicable Certificates of Approval/Environmental Compliance Approvals as part of their proposal.

The purpose of this RFP is to secure biohazardous waste removal services for the University.
a)     Removal, treatment and disposal of anatomical waste during commissioning and approval of onsite equipment and as a contingency measure thereafter
b)     Removal, treatment and disposal of non-anatomical waste prior to and during commissioning and approval of onsite equipment and as a contingency measure thereafter
