In fall of 2018, Centennial College is slated to open a new Aerospace Technology focused campus on what is the historic site of de Havilland of Canada, an indelible part of Canada's aviation heritage. The project repurposes the de Havilland building, located at 65 Carl Hall Rd., with selective demolition and new construction to create approximately 138,000 square feet of instruction space. The Aerospace Hub at Downsview Park will not only facilitate the training of students in the latest aerospace technology but also seeks to bring together academic and industry partners to catalyze new research and development initiatives. This equipment listed in this RFQ represents one of many pieces of leading-edge aerospace manufacturing, testing, or research equipment that will populate the Downsview Park Aerospace Campus. This equipment will encourage and facilitate cutting-edge technological learning as well as the industry-led research initiatives that require high-level industry standard equipment.
The vision for the Downsview Park Aerospace Campus is to be a comprehensive educational and research facility. This new development represents a major turning point for Centennial College, furthering the College’s position as a leader in avionics, aircraft maintenance, and manufacturing education.
