Description

This is an Advanced Contract Award Notice indicating to the supplier community that the University intends to award a contract for these goods to a pre-identified supplier. As part of the CFI-funded project (Multimodal Assessment of Human Cognition in Laboratory and Naturalistic Settings), Department of Cognitive Science researchers are setting up a cognitive neuroscience laboratory. A key piece of equipment within this laboratory is a mobile fNIRS system that is capable of measuring relative changes in blood oxygenation using light as a means of inferring brain activity. A portable fNIRS system will be used to measure changes in blood oxygenation and deoxygenated hemoglobin. fNIRS relies on principles of neurovascular coupling, which describes a relationship between neural activity and localized changes in blood flow.
