BROADBAND (BUSINESS) INTERNET SERVICE AND/OR DEDICATED INTERNET
TRANSIT
The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB), (the “Purchaser”) invites interested parties to submit Proposals for the provision of Broadband (business) Internet Service and/or Dedicated Internet Transit. Our goal is to provide affordable high-speed internet connectivity to enhance student achievement through reliable, innovative learning environments. The Purchaser requires a minimum broadband internet service burstable to 1 Mbps per student/educator with the future capability of bursting to 3Mbps per student/educator. The Purchaser has explored SD-WAN technologies and their associated benefits and intends to deploy to schools in the near future, in order to aggregate transport connections to achieve the required capacity.
The Ottawa Catholic School Board is located in Eastern Ontario, serving urban, suburban and rural families across a geographical distance of 2,900 square kilometers within the City of Ottawa limits. We provide a distinctive education with a special emphasis on student success and spiritual growth to 41,000 full-time students. With over 4,500 employees, we operate 83 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12), an adult high school and one administrative building. Contracts will be awarded on a site by site basis. Respondents are not required to bid on all sites listed on the Price Schedule. Respondents, who propose a Dedicated Internet Transit solution, must be able to provide and price infrastructure DDOS protection. The Purchaser may award a Contract to one (1) Respondent but reserves the right to award to more than one.
The Purchaser requires the service to be fully operational by December 31, 2018.
At the time of the close of the RFP, a public opening will be held at the closing location, at which time only the names of the Respondents will be announced.
Respondents should note that this procurements is within the scope of Chapter 5 of the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between Quebec and Ontario and the Comprehensive Economic Free Trade Agreement (CETA) and subject to such documents as amended, although the rights and obligations of the parties shall be governed by the specific terms of this document.
