THE DELIVERABLES

Ornge wishes to procure an Supplemental Type Certificate (“STC”) Kit for an Apple iPad Mount Installation for the AW 139 helicopter. These installations will be used to mount two iPads in each of the 12 AW139 helicopters in the Ornge fleet.

The proposed bracket must:

Have a STC eligible for the Leonardo AW 139 aircraft in their Ornge configurations;
Be mountable, meeting the minimum certification requirements for the Transport Canada Civil Aviation (“TCCA”) regulations;
Must be able to release from and secure to the bracket easily by operator;
Have an articulating/extendible arm that functions to improve the viewing angle of the iPad;
Be light weight and have a minimized design to maintain low impact on additional weight;
Have bracketry of minimal impact design;
Be capable of installation location to LHS and RHS of cockpit avionics panel. Immediately to the LHS and RHS of the Pilot and Co-Pilot for easy access for both stowing and operation;
Have a clamping mounting bracket for easy removal and installation;
Include a design with a fixed charging port to be installed in close proximity to the iPad installation for a clean and out of the way wired install;
Include USB charging capability for each iPad and an additional set of ports on the center console (for pilot/medic phones);
Allow for the iPad to be used in all phases of flight;
Allow for the iPad to be stowed in a position that minimises the obstruction of view; and
Have design elements to mitigate aircraft vibration.

Other Mandatory Submission Requirements

Include proof of STC for proposed bracket or timeline for acquisition of a new STC.
Provide evidence of any STCs held for similar products.

MANDATORY TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have ALL below capabilities:

Mountable, meeting minimum certification requirements in accordance with applicable TCCA regulations and maintaining the basis of Type Certificate Data Sheet (“TCDS”) number H -108 and, in accordance to the requirements of TCCA Advisory Circular (AC) #700-020;
Articulating/extendible arm that functions to improve the viewing angle of the iPad;
Include USB charging capability for each iPad and an additional set of ports on the center console (for pilot/medic phones);
Allow for the iPad to be used in all phases of flight; and
Have design elements to mitigate aircraft vibration.
