Ontario Brain Institute (OBI) is a provincially funded not-for-profit organization maximizing the impact of neuroscience and establishing Ontario as a world leader in brain research, commercialization and care. OBI is dedicated to improving brain health by supporting collaborative research, commercialization of neurotechnologies and strengthening key partnerships and programs.
The purpose of this RFP is to identify the most suitable information technology (IT) service provider to support the information technology needs of the Ontario Brain Institute and its staff.
OBI is currently composed of 20 to 25 staff with typical work hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. 4 intern staff members rotate every 6 months in addition to the core staff. Over the course of the next few years, other training opportunities offered by OBI may lead to the creation of new staff IT requirements for up to 5-10 additional members.
Currently, the OBI IT infrastructure is composed of the following devices: server rack (OBI owned), UPS equipment, two GB Ethernet switches, one PBX (OBI owned), three GB switches, main F&P server, secondary server, one firewall device, one NAS device, three large-screen commercial displays for presentations. OBI also leases one Xerox multifunction printer. All 32 office desks, 7 private offices and 3 conference rooms are equipped with IP phones or audio and video conferencing devices.
