Description

NTPC has two telecom links that it would like to investigate, and others may be required
throughout the year. Prior to doing so, we need to consider what path these links will
take, ensure they are feasible, and design them.

NTPC is looking for a vendor that can provide studies for, and has experience in northern
environments so that we can proceed with design work and development, with reasonable
confidence of success. This RFP is only for the services to provide the studies and
potential design work related to developing these telecom links. Actual development will
either be done by NTPC or through additional RFPs. The first planned link is between
our Taltson Hydro site and our Fort Smith office. The second link is from our Snare
Hydro site to our Jackfish (Yellowknife) office. The intent for both is to find options for
high-speed private links. Additional links may require studies throughout the year as
well, and it is expected that they would be covered under this as well.

Both of these links span 50+ KM across northern landscapes, including rivers and rocky,
uneven terrain.
