The work is identified as:
.1 Northumberland Hills Hospital - Cogeneration Plant - CHP Equipment Pre-Tender -
Issued for Bid.
.2 It is Northumberland Hills Hospital’s intent to implement a cogeneration plant at their facility in
Cobourg, Ontario. The cogeneration plant shall provide electrical power and thermal energy
to be utilized within the facility only (No energy generated by the cogeneration plant shall
be exported). The electrical output of the cogeneration plant shall be a nominal 300 kW.
Units in this approximate size range will all be considered based on their own merits. The
cogeneration plants major equipment shall be designed for exterior installation within a fully
containerized enclosure.
.3 The purpose of this equipment Pre-Tender is to establish the Supplier of the required equipment
such that:
.1 The final design and physical characteristics of the installation can be determined.
.2 Shop drawing review and delivery of the equipment can be expedited.
.3 Equipment cost can be firmly established.
.4 Maintenance Package / Performance Guarantee costs can be firmly established for
years 2 - 10.
.5 Detailed evaluations of cogeneration at Northumberland Hills Hospital can be finalized.
(ie. Connection Impact Assessment (CIA))
.4 Vendors of manufactured equipment and/or material are invited to submit bids for the supply
and set-in place on site (land) of equipment and/or material as listed in the technical sections
attached hereto.
.5 It is the bidders responsibility to visit the site and examine existing conditions and make
allowances in their bid price as necessary to properly land all equipment supplied
