The Municipality of Lambton Shores (“the Municipality”), has a clearly defined strategy in place to deliver improved government services for both residents and local business through the placing of ‘a high priority on the repair and upgrade of the Municipality’s infrastructure’. A key element in the success of this strategy for service improvement rests on improving the Municipality’s legacy telecommunications infrastructure.

The Municipality currently relies on telephony services provided through a mix of aging telephone system equipment and hosted telephony services obtained through local service providers. Using this combination of differing technologies and obsolete equipment has led to significant communication challenges for staff, incurs higher operational costs and has created frustration for residents and local business who are unable to easily connect with the right resource or department within the Municipality. The Municipality intends to replace its existing telephone infrastructure and hosted voice service with a premise based Voice over IP (VoIP) solution that will utilize the Municipality’s Wide Area (WAN) and Local Area (LAN) networks. This RFP is focused on the identification and selection of both a manufacturer’s technology platform and a system integrator to deliver core voice communications, applications and professional services to the Municipality’s user community

The Municipality of Lambton Shores invites you to submit proposals for telecommunication services which will allow the Municipality to: i) Actively manage the cost of the system/service; ii) Drive process excellence; and iii) Drive business efficiencies.
