The current Recreation and Leisure Services Master Plan was completed in 2010. The Plan identified a number of recommendations to guide parks, recreation and leisure decisions. The plan includes 9 strategic directions: - Become a ‘leading edge’ municipality - Supporting our volunteers - Establishing positive partnerships - Supporting municipal staff - Success through municipal leadership and community development - Increasing awareness of local resources and opportunities - Facilitating a range of recreation and leisure activities - Embracing the arts, culture and heritage - A functional and sustainable parks system Consulting services are required to: - Review and update recommendations from the current plan - Undertake public consultation to identify emerging trends/issues - Update timing and resource implications associated with implementing action items Generally, the successful firm will be required to: - Attend staff, Council, Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and public meeting(s) to update the study - Liaise with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee as the steering committee for this project - Provide 10 hard copies and one electronic copy of the final plan - Present the final plan to Municipal Council
