"PCL/ED, a Joint Venture, acting as the Construction Manager (CM) for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project, requests quotations from conservators including those who have submitted expressions of interest for the Work outlined in this Tender Package.
The Work outlined in the drawings and specifications has been further defined by Part B "Scope of Work".
Bidders should submit a technical and financial proposal to supply Copper Roof Conservator / Materials Specialist services to assist the Construction Management and Consultant Teams with a programme of the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project.
The scope of work for the conservation of copper roof at the Centre Block building comprises of a complex assembly of sloped and flat roofs made up of sheet copper roofing, with a batten seam roofing system, originally built between 1918-1919. The copper roof system on the south façade was replaced in 1997. The sloped copper roof is made up of 16oz copper sheathing (20oz on the south façade) over weatherproofing, covering a number of decorative and structural roof elements including dormer windows, turrets, chimneys, and pavilion towers with decorative copper cresting, louvers, and spiers.
Historical lead flashing exists to protect masonry elements. The Successful Bidder will be responsible for assessing and analyzing existing conditions, as well as providing recommendations for interventions, as required.
The Successful Bidder must provide Design-Assist-Oversight services, participate in Project meetings and workshops, provide build-ability and constructability advice, define and manage Work and design phasing and sequencing in accordance with the project milestones and construction budget."
