PCL \ ED, a Joint Venture, acting as the Construction Manager (CM), is inviting Bidders to submit their Statement of Qualifications to pre-qualify to bid on the Excavation, Removal and Disposal of Soils and Limestone Rock from under the existing of the Center Block Heritage Building. The Scope of Services of this prequalification package is for the excavation of any soils, granular, and limestone materials under the Centre Block Heritage Building.

Provide detailed drawings indicating methodology
Excavating, removal and disposal of existing backfill material
breaking excavating, removal, and disposal of limestone materials
working between existing micro piles installed by the piling and shoring subcontractors
Work with the structural steel shoring subcontractor as they install shoring between micro piles as the excavation proceeds.
The installation will be phased

The scopes of work will be further detailed in the tenders.
The subcontractor must demonstrate as requested in 6.3.2 Major Projects and Ongoing Projects and 6.3.3 Comparable Projects that they are capable of completing the following:

Excavation of soils, rock or limestone under a significant heritage building and/or other significant structure
Demonstrate they have worked on projects with limited space and access. We anticipate the following parameters:
- Areas with less than 8’ft of head room.
- Excavating in areas with multiple obstacles (micro piles, footings etc.)
- Areas where hoisting by tower crane
- Provide examples of similar projects
Previous work excavating under major heritage structures will be scored higher.
Explain which portions of the above work the subcontractor completes with their own forces and which portions are completed through Sub-subcontractors.
Explain productivity tracking and how you propose to keep to schedule.
Management of multiple shifts.

Due to design and/or industry capacity limitations the design packages may be split into multiple smaller packages.
