1. SCOPE OF WORK
  1. Work to include all labour, material and equipment required for installing, testing and placing in initial operation the following systems as detailed in specifications of each section and as shown on drawings.
    1. Section 21 05 10 – Acceptable Equipment, Materials and Products - Mechanical.
    2. Section 21 08 10 – Insulation.
    3. Section 22 40 10 – Plumbing.
  2. All Mechanical Work to be bid as a single complete contract even though work of various mechanical trades has been further sub-divided into each Section noted above.
  3. Bid the mechanical work in accordance with the following trades:
    1. Asbestos Abatement
    2. Insulation
    3. Plumbing

1. SITE ASSESSMENT
  
  Site Examination
  
  A mandatory, formal orientation meeting and site examination will take place on February 23, 2022, commencing at 1:00 pm. Meeting will be convened at the Victoria Hospital Powerhouse.
  
  In the event a bidder and subtrade bidders are not able to attend at the pre-arranged day, an alternate day may be arranged. Contact the Consultant for potential arrangements.
  
  Restore place of the Work to original condition, at conclusion of visit, should any drilling or physical examination be made.
  
  Bring to the attention of the Consultant during bid period, differences in Bid documents and existing conditions at the place of Work, or ambiguities, or unclear aspects in the documents in sufficient time to permit clarification by Addenda.
  
  Contact the Consultant regarding queries pertaining to site visit.
  
  A minuted record of site visit queries will be provided by Addendum.
  
  Notwithstanding that there is no requirement to visit the site, Bidders are not relieved of the responsibility to ascertain the full extent of the work required by the Contract Documents for the preparation of their bids. Bidders are fully responsible for obtaining information on the nature and location of the work and local conditions, and to determine the means of access to the site and all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and circumstances that may affect their bid.

1. BID SUBMISSION
  1. Present bids on Bid Form enclosed. Refer to Document 00 41 13 – Construction Bid Form.
  2. Bid Ineligibility
    1. Bids that are unsigned, improperly signed or sealed, conditional, illegible, obscure, contain arithmetical errors, erasures, alterations, or irregularities of any kind, may at the discretion of the Owner, be declared informal.
    2. Bids with Bid Forms and enclosures, which are improperly prepared, may at the discretion of the Owner, be declared informal.
    3. Bids that fail to include bid enclosures and bid form supplements may be declared informal at Owner’s discretion.
    4. The Owner may waive minor irregularities if the interests of the Owner so require.
  3. Submit two copies of the Bid Form, signed and corporate sealed together with the required security in a closed opaque envelope, clearly identified with bidder’s name, project name and Owner’s name on the outside.
