Project Scope
It is intended that the project General Contractor is an Electrical Contractor and is responsible for all subtrades.
The basic scope of work below is not a final list of all. This is not intended to be a sequence of
construction.
· The existing intercom system is used to communicate with inmates on each floor of the existing
building, and as such contractors will be removing the existing master and satellite stations and
replacing with new.
· All existing wiring is to be retained for remote intercom stations and re-connected. No new remote
stations are to be added.
· The Winnipeg Remand Centre will remain in full operation during the Intercom System
Replacement. The contractor must take into account for all phasing of the system replacement. Also
be aware that the existing intercom system is integrated into other building systems which are not
being replaced. The new intercom system will be re-integrated into the existing systems.
· The contractor must have at least 10 Years of experience working in a correctional facility or
similar type facility.
