Description

Shared Health Mobile Phlebotomy Program (Rural Manitoba): A Pilot
The program will be providing blood collection (Phlebotomy) and urine collection in patient/client homes. The collected samples will then be transported to the nearest lab by the collector and processed and analyzed by the lab for reporting. It is anticipated, in the future, that the program will include point-of-care testing (POCT) also. This program is designed to provide phlebotomy services to patients/clients that are unable to travel to a phlebotomy facility (Hospital/clinic) due to factors beyond their control (mobility, etc). The program is intended to support the Manitoba Clinical Preventive Services Plan (CPSP) by providing both to services to individuals who would have barrier to care while providing care closer to home.
