Description

The Coordinating Entity is conducting research to better understand the market for Universal Newborn Hearing screening and solutions appropriate for this equipment related to child health.

Universal Newborn Hearing Screening is a Provincially legislated service in Manitoba. The UNHS program aims to ensure that all newborns, and their families, are offered UNHS services within 24 hours of birth and are provided UNHS services prior to hospital discharge where hearing screening services exist or within 1 month if the newborn is born at any other location. Approximately 17,000 newborns are screened annually throughout the 5 Regional Health Centres in Manitoba
