The Board of Governors of Red River College has directed the development of comprehensive campus wide plans to identify, mitigate and manage risk from all hazards and ensure the continuity of college services. The integrated plans, to be developed sequentially, include an Enterprise Risk Management Plan, Business Continuity Plan, Disaster Recovery Plan and a risk based 3 year Internal Audit Plan.
Significant expectations are aligned with the commitment to this extensive project. It is expected that ERM (Enterprise Risk Management) will be embedded in our culture, decision making and business planning processes, support the achievement of our strategic goals and objectives and the pursuit of operational excellence. BCP (Business Continuity Planning) will proactively prepare us to manage business disruption efficiently and effectively prioritizing the safety of students, staff and visitors to our campus. DRP (Disaster Recovery Planning) will embed a focus on technology and communication networks in our BCP processes. IA (Internal Audit) will monitor ongoing efforts in each of the previous areas to ensure risk management, internal controls, resource utilization, compliance and stewardship are elevated to a positon that drives continuous improvement in priority areas.
A significant amount of work related to each plan has been completed at RRC, however, it has been addressed from a traditional issue driven perspective. The development of this comprehensive program must begin with an understanding of the current state and proceed to leverage and harmonize plan requirements with existing policies, programs, processes, previously completed work and work currently in progress resulting in a comprehensive, integrated set of plans for the College
