FIRE FIGHTING TRAINING SERVICE
Aerial Apparatus Driver/Operator Training
- Accredited train the trainer course
This course is for educating and evaluating Driver/Operators in the use
of Fire Department Apparatus equipped with an Aerial Device. The course
must be accredited by IFSAC and meets the requirements of Chapter Four &
Six of the NFPA 1002 Standard on Fire, pumper aerial Apparatus
Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications. Trainer should come and
train the instructors on Aerial Apparatus Training. Must provide ability
to offer accredited training to the students after the course is
complete. The interactive training should include Preventative
Maintenance; Aerial Positioning; Apparatus Maneuvering; Defensive
Driving on Public Streets; Aerial Water Supply; Aerial Stabilization;
Emergency Operations; Aerial Master Stream Operations and Aerial Power
Transfer. A written and practical evaluation for the students required
to ensure NFPA Standards are achieved. Successful students should have
an appropriate mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skills to
ensure the apparatus and personnel get to the scene safely and that the
apparatus is utilized to its fullest potential. Upon request this course
can be delivered to assist successful participants set up an in-house
EVO(Emergency Vehicle Operator) program. A Fire and Safety Division EVO
Evaluator must conduct practical and written evaluations to ensure IFSAC
criteria are met. (Formerly EVO146;NFPA1002)
Prerequisite: NFPA 1001 Level 1 (accredited) Applicable class drivers
licence (class 1, 3 or 5), with air brake endorsement.
- Course to be held at the Manitoba Emergency Services College in
Brandon MB prior to March 31, 2024

Generally the lowest overall price of an acceptable item(s) in
accordance with the terms & conditions of the RFQ will be
awarded the order. Quotations will be evaluated based on suitability of
unit offered compared to the end users needs, product specifications,
delivery, warranty, price, quality of the bidder's performance in past
awards and any other terms & conditions indicated on this RFQ.
Failure to provide adequate information to evaluate the item offered may
be cause for rejection of your quote by the Manitoba Government
(Manitoba). Suitability selection to be at Manitoba's sole discretion.

The product offered must meet the requirements and expectations for its
intended use.

Manitoba reserves the right, prior to any contract award, to secure
evidence to Manitoba's satisfaction that any bidder is the manufacturer
