Birdtail Sioux First Nation is calling tenders for the Aeration Lagoon, Truck Garage and Associated Works project. The project works must be completed by October 31, 2023. Sealed tenders will be received up to 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at the office of JR Cousin Consultants Ltd. (JRCC), 91A Scurfield Blvd. Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A partial listing of the works is as follows:
- Construction of two aerated lagoon cells and two SAGR cells with in situ clay liner, including 32,600 m3 of excavation, site piping, intercell and level control chambers, an outfall structure to the Assiniboine River, rip rap on the inner slopes of the lagoon cells, fencing, seeding, etc.
- Construction of a 125 m2 wood-frame Blower Building with a concrete thickened-edge slab-on-grade foundation to house the aeration blowers, a chemical feed system, office, washroom and mechanical room.
- Construction of a 307 m2 wood-frame 4-bay Sewer Truck Garage Building with a concrete thickened-edge slab-on-grade foundation with in-floor heating including mechanical/electrical room, office and washroom.
- Installation of 87 new holding tanks to replace existing septic tanks for individual homes, conversion of 22 existing septic tanks to holding tanks by removal of the pump and capping of the discharge pipe.
- Construction of 2.8 km long, 8 m wide access road by upgrades of an existing road/trail including:
- Approximately 65,000 m3 of excavation
- 150 mm of A-base gravel
- 300 mm of C-base gravel with a provisional item to increase the C-base to 450 mm
- Double surface treatment (chip seal) to approximately 1,075 m of road surface with a provisional item for an additional 1,700 m of road surface
- Erosion control measures including erosion control blanket in the ditch bottoms, hydraulic erosion control/seed, check dams in the road ditches, sediment retention fiber rolls on the side slopes, etc.
A pre-tender meeting and test holes will be completed on-site meeting at the Band Office at 11:00 am on Friday June 17, 2022.
